Welcome to Blogging Your Dreams

At Washington Post Newsweek Interactive, the advertising team came up with a crazy idea: what if we took a portion of advertising dollars and used it to help make someone’s dream come true? Well… we decided to try it.

The concept is simple.

Over the course of the next 3 months, we will be accepting dream submissions and posting some of those dreams to BloggingYourDreams.com, hopefully sparking some interesting conversations.

We’ll pick a dreamer and give them the resources to go for it. The only thing we ask in return is for the chosen dreamer to blog the whole experience on BloogingYourDreams.com from start to finish so that the world can cheer them on, share advice and learn from their journey. Comments, of course, will be welcome.

So how do you get started? Well first, click here and send us a dream you have always wanted to achieve. Second, check back often and join in the experience.

And of course if you have any questions, just drop us a line. We would love to hear form you.

Submissions are officially closed

Whew! Submissions are officially closed and now the hard part begins.

First and foremost, thanks to the many of you out there who joined in and shared your dreams with us. The last 3 months have been a blast.

Over the next couple of weeks, the Dream team here will be reviewing those who have submitted.

Stay tuned to find out who will be Blogging Their Dreams.

Thanks!

And the winners are......

Last year, at Washington Post Newsweek Interactive, the advertising team came up with a crazy idea: what if we took a portion of advertising dollars and used it to help make someone’s dream come true? Well… we decided to try it.

And now, we are pleased to announce our two winners.....

Winner #1 is Marty Bentley who would like to renovate an old building near her home in Macungie, Pa., in order to provide affordable housing for the disadvantaged and job opportunities for the unemployed.

Philadelphia resident Melissa Holloway is the second winner. As a professional genealogist, her dream is to start a preservation and tourism program for Eden Cemetery, the oldest African American-owned cemetery in the U.S, located in Collingdale, Pa.

Throughout the next couple of months both Bently and Holloway will be contributing on Blogging Your Dreams sharing their experiences. We hope that you will check back often and join in the excitement.

Congratulations!!!!!
